Dara is phenomenal!

She is kind and caring - her programming is designed with developmental milestones in mind. Our child looks forward to her classes each week and even calls Yokey (the class mascot) on the phone while on vacation.

Beyond her regular schedule she offers varied programming throughout the summer that includes weekends! Our child has made so many friends through this class which has been a core part of developing her social circle. Thanks for all you do, Dara!

We absolutely love Dara Doodle!

As a mom who is also a Speech-Language Pathologist, I love how her classes are fun for the kids and engaging- but are also very thoughtfully structured, language rich and full of hands-on learning opportunities. She uses songs that include lots of alliteration, rhymes, basic concepts and descriptive language- which are all so important in the early years! She seamlessly incorporates age appropriate content into each class, and shares meaningful and helpful information related to her activities with the parents as well.

I also very much appreciate the way she communicates with each child. Dara is always very kind, expressive, and intentional in her interactions with the kids. She always meets each child where they are that day, keeps them engaged, and makes sure they have a great class!

Surpassed all expectations!

Dara is wonderful! As a first time mom and also brand new to mommy-and-me type classes, Dara surpassed all expectations. Not only is the class enjoyable for my now 8-month-old son, it is time that I look forward to as well. Dara is awesome at fostering relationships within her class and also within the community. The whole vibe is warm, nurturing, and dynamic. Bravo!

Dara’s classes are wonderful! She brings joy, kindness, and variety to each class — and of course her sweet puppet, Yokey, who everyone adores. Dara is warm and welcoming

I took my 10-month-old to a handful of Dara‘s drop-in classes this summer and we loved them so much, we ended up bringing my older kids (4 and 6) as well — and already snagged a regular spot for a fall class. Dara is warm and welcoming, creating a great space for parents and children alike. There are some familiar tunes as well as new songs to get excited about each time. In addition to exposing young children to the benefits and joys of music, Dara‘s classes are a natural way to connect with other parents and caregivers in the local area.

Highlight of our week!

Doodlebugs is the highlight of our week, for me and my 17-month-old daughter. We've been singing and dancing with Dara and Yokey since my girl was 3 months old. I've met and bonded with some of my best friends here, disproving that old adage "you can't make new old friends." Vibe is part summer camp, part band camp, part science camp. A space to be uninhibited and silly with your friends and kids, no matter how bad your rhythm. And Dara brings an early childhood nerd's brain and wisdom to every class. As a new mom, I value learning about what's going on in my little one's mind and body from month to month as much as I value the quality time together. Beyond the songs and rhymes, we're learning how to support babe's verbal, rhythmic, motor, and social development. So grateful to Dara for bringing her special talent to Larchmont.

Time to sign up for Dara Doodle!

Dara Doodle is everything. We’ve followed Dara since my daughter was 3 months old. After leaving the city, I didn’t think I’d be able to find a class that was enjoyably musical but also engaging and thoughtful in teaching methods. Dara is so incredibly knowledgeable on the way music impacts our little ones’ brains, and she is always looking to hone her craft. She takes input from parents with every silly suggestion and she reads cues from the kiddos in the room too. Beyond that, she’s a community connector and always looking for ways to make the Larchmont community feel more like home. I feel so lucky to have been able to experience music in a fantastic bookstore in town, with a small pod in my own home, and at a gorgeous country club overlooking the Long Island sound. Dara— I can’t imagine the last 14 months without you and without your playlists that keep me sane instead of losing my mind in the car. One final highlight i will end with was Dara’s rendition of the song “I Like Jazz” including some incredible scatting. Beyond fantastic!

Educational, engaging, and fun!

We love Dara Doodle! Dara’s classes cater to children of all ages, making it an educational, engaging, and fun experience for both my toddler and baby. As a new mom, it is wonderful to not only have Dara as an amazing music teacher, but also as fellow mom and friend. Dara (and Yokey!) are an integral part of the Larchmont community, and they do a great job at bringing people together through their music and support.
